I've wondered how the surgery and layoff would effect him. Below is a picture of Wlad taken about 2 days ago. This content is protected His surgery was on his LEFT shoulder. It appears that he has been able to get back to whatever lifting, activity, etc... that he normally would do...and at least for some time now. After surgery I would imagine that he wasn't allowed to lift and/or had restricted movement for quite some time. Anyone who has had surgery on an arm/shoulder and had those restrictions afterward knows how fast you can lose strength (I've had this twice before). So to see him currently, with what appears to be just as much bulk/definition on his arm as before surgery...that's a very good sign for the fight with Chambers, as it's about 10 weeks away.
What kind of surgery did he have? I hate to open a can of worms but some post-surgery recovery requires a course of steroids, which would obviously help maintain his physical make up. Not saying he's roiding or anything, just a thought.
Current ESB orthodoxy dictates that if he hasn't undergone olympic style blood testing in the past three hours then he's a proven cheat, iirc.
depends. speaking only from experience, i had a torn rotator cuff (which seems pretty common for boxers) and without surgery it took about 6-8 weeks to heal with minimal exercise. i guess it depends on the nature and severity of the injury; mine was moderate and recurrent every few years. the thing is, you can still keep in damn fine shape without putting too much strain on the shoulder
wlad's brother vitali did test positive for steroids. i wouldn't be surprised if wlad is on steroids as well.
well i didnt accuse wlad of anything. i'm just saying it wouldn't shock me if he was on steroids. the ukraine/former soviet bloc isn't exactly known for their honest integrity with regards to PEDs... and wlad's own brother tested positive. jus' sayin...
You can't really accurately gauge his bodyfat % from that picture, especially given that we don't know Wlads' current weight either.
