i think this might border on excessive holding, another referee might not allowed him to do it as much.i like wlad, just not his style of running from every punch.

He's a better offensive fighter than Terrell was but not as tough. In a time machine match-up I'd expect Foreman to blast Wlad out pretty quickly.

Definitely. In fact a guy like Gerry Cooney had a better chance with Foreman that Wlad would, imo.

Almost everything makes me lean towards Klit for that one. But I just can't see Wlad taking Cooneys left hook, which he would surely land being the same height. I know I seem like a Wlad hater but I just can't see him coming out on top in any tough match- ups with his chin and stamina issues.

you know i like wlad, seems like a really nice guy.but surely stewart's got to know that safety first fighting is going to come back to haunt him.

Yeah, because Ali would never hold an opponent right? Dumbass. :yep

Ali was famous for holding, holding & hitting, laying on the ropes & just covering up.

Well Wlad also punched back. Of course this video doesn't show that, but i suggest you re-watch the fight. Wlad raked Peter with a ton of righthands that sounded like shotgun blasts. He staggered Peter in the 12th. And if the referee allows it, you can hardly blame the fighter for doing it. Just like Ali kept holding behind the head throughout the entire 70's, simply because he was allowed to do so.

A fighter (or competitor) will do anything that is allowed to win.

I also remember Ali holding Chuvalo after being hit by body shots that were harder than he liked them to be. It's part of boxing.

Both Wlad and Peter fought equally as dirty, Wlad layed on Peters back a couple times, like Lewis used to do, and clinched and turned his back to avoid punches, Peter threw rabbit punches. I think the ref seen both men fouling and let them handle there problems betwwen each other, just like the refs did back in the old days. Every good fighter has at least one illegal tactic in there arsenal, Ali - holding behind the head, Lewis - leaning on fighters backs on the clinch, Holyfield - Headbutting, Tyson - throwing forearms/elbows etc...

Wlad was worse than Ruiz and Akinwande put together in this fight.

Bull****. No one beats Ruiz at wrestling...............

Akinwande wasn't throwing any punches he was just holding vs. Lewis & that's why he was DQ'd.

Wlad wasn't DQ'd vs. Peter because he was throwing punches, look at Cheater's head after the fight for evidence.

Peter Is Overrated. He has yet to KO a top 25 Heavyweight and his best win is against a old, fat, former Middleweight. Peter has zero Boxing skill. He was bounced around the ring like a basketball by one of the biggest jokes in the sport Jameel McCline.

I think calling Mccline a joke, is pretty harsh dont you think? The guy gave the then IBF champ Chris Bryd all he could handle back in 04, even flooring him in the 1st round. Brock also got dropped by Mccline, which I believe was the first time Brock hit the canvas up to that point. Mccline is a game fighter, and far from a joke as you put it.
