How come Wlad didn't come or even write a comment on Usyk's win over AJ? Seems kinda weird since his bro Vitali went there and cheered for his countryman last week. This content is protected The only thing he did was retweet a message from ESPN. Thoughts on the matter?
Didn't want to look like sour grapes? Or perhaps he had been sitting on a game plan that he thought would have beaten AJ and broken Foreman's record, but now AJ is beltless so he's forlorn?
Could be a lot of things. Vlad is supposed to have this public fake big bro little bro thing with AJ. Yelling SLAVA UKRAINI on twitter would kind of expose that. Also the AJ loss is what finally endeared him to the boxing public, so when AJ wins, he wins in a way. He and Usyk may also be in different political camps and don't agree on what the future of Ukraine should be.
Wlad still fuming with himself all these years later that he let Joshua off the hook big time and it came back to haunt him .
Yeah this is likely. The Ukrainian wolves all saw AJ as the fattest cash cow in the whole boxing landscape. A winnable fight that would yield endless riches. Vlad was a hair away from having it but failed. Probably hurts to see a very beatable AJ get taken out knowing he could've done it.
That would be weird, like the plot to Rocky 3 where Creed after seeing Rocky lose becomes his coach to dethrone Clubber Lang. Has Joshua lost the eye of the Tiger?
After they sparred back in 2015, there were rumors that they are not that close. Vitali is big fan of Usyk and support him almost always. He was in Riga when he was fighting Briedes
Usyk was/is signed to K2 promotions which Vits is overseeing. He's looking after his business interests.
