Great fight. Nice to see a Roger Mayweather/ Freddie Roach showdown on basic cable. Lock reminds me a little of a smaller, southpaw, prime Vernon Forrest.
It was a great fight, Gonzalez seemed to be coming back in the middle rounds, and then in the last two Lock stepped it up and got the KO in the final round. Entertaining fight!
He won, but that boy still has a long way to go. Very entertaining main event with a dramatic ending. Roach vs Maywaether on ESPN! Unbelievable
So I take it he didn't look that great. He hasn't been the same fighter since he lost... he lost some confidence after that. 135 is stacked, so It'll take some time before he gets a big name fight.
So-so, imo. The judges and commentators had him winning it pretty comfortably, but I thought it was much closer than the scores indicated. The journeyman he was fighting had him backing up for much of the fight and scored well against him in several rounds. Based on what I saw, I was not particularly impressed. If he can't excel at this level, when he steps it up he might be in over his head.
