Seriously man. Just let it happen already. Get it over with, and we can move past it. If women can't cut it in co-ed sports, well I guess they won't play sports then. What's the big deal? Let nature take its course! :p

Fair enough. I'm a bit embarrassed that this was a dutch sanctioned bout, though.

Man, after reading that, that picture of "her" really makes me puke. I know there are a few hot female boxers out there, but the majority of them are ****ing disgusting with male facial features. Steroid use on women is UGLY!

No one is making an argument that an average woman is stronger than an average man or that an average woman can beat the average man in boxing(obviously untrue). But it is equally non sensical to make a statement that ALL women have less strength than ALL man OR that ALL women would lose to All men in boxing.

Is anyone here prepared to make the above statement? If not, than it follows that you must allow for the possibility that the woman featured in this thread legitimatly beat her male opponent.

**** me some of you have not got a clue....

That was not a club fighter, it was a ****ing TV reporter with no fighting background....and clearly a glass jawed reporter at that.

Yes a woman with the same weight, same training and same size against a man of the same stats is in serious trouble. And I will explain why...

    1. Women have naturally higher body fat to muscle ratios, a woman of the same weight as a man has far less muscle mass and far more fat. Fact.

    2. Women have narrower bones and less bone density, this means injury to bone is more likely and blunt object injury to areas like the jaw are more of a risk. Fact.

    3. Women have less VO2 Max capacity, thus suffer fatigue faster and have lower stamina. Fact.

    4. Women have lower pain threshold and pain tolerance levels as tested across race, age and through a multitude of studies over 30 years. Fact.

    5. Women have less testosterone which is a muscle builder and is the pre cursor to explosive muscle action. Fact.

    6. Women generally have worse hand eye coordination and spatial awareness. Fact.

Man v Woman in 95% of cases is a mismatch and dangerous. Put that female from the clip into the ring with an amateur fighter of the same weight who is 18 years old and she gets slaughtered and I mean horribly beaten up.

There are some species of animals where the female is the bigger, stronger and more dominant of the two.

It's amusing how people (often thesame individual) manipulate the concept of nature to support their arguments in two completely opposite ways:
    1. If its observed in nature its "natural" and therefore "good" (eg. "since most animals are heterosexual, homosexuality is unnatural and therefore bad")
    2. If it's found in nature it is savage and primitive and we are way more advanced with our culture to follow what the animals do (eg., "Fighting is for animals").

    What is VO2 Max capacity?

I think, by the way, another point is that women are naturally not fighters/competitors, in the mental part. Even if women would have the same body structure as men, they'd still lose to men in general. Most of the women just don't have that drive to be the best, the drive for power, the instinct to fight back. They rather have some guy do the work and ***** behind their backs. Sports that don't require physical strength as much like table tennis or even thinking sports like chess are still male dominated. Same for racing sports, although i've heard that that is more physically demanding than one would say.

True but the girl needs someone to spar. Otherwise it would be hard to prepare her to fight anyone. There was a boy who got the best of her now that I think about it who was 13 but he outweighed her by about 70 pounds. He was over 200 and she was 138.
If my boys fought like a girl I would want them to fight like her.

    Simple as this, for me.

A trained boxer, regardless of gender, is quite likely to KTFO an untrained TV reporter every time they fight. A well-trained, talented female boxer likely possesses the skill-set needed to defeat a mediocre club fighter in a number of clases (Mary Joe Sanders/Ann Wolfe/Laila Ali could all probably school a fair number of journeymen, based strictly on having superior skills.)

But, ultimately, that doesn't tell us anything that we didn't already know. And, it doesn't really enhance the credibility of the sport of woman's boxing. That will occur when fighters like Ali, Wolfe and Sanders step into the ring with one another, rather than with a series of overmatched club fighters (of a different gender).

    Excellent technical break down:good

Man vs Woman Boxing on any level is pathetic and can only lead to a greater likelyhood of negativity.

Did you just say, you let a 138 lb girl spar a 200lb boy who was a year older??

    :huh

Either, you are a ****ing IDIOT!!! Or, you are talking about the Vicious Boxer methods of sparring. In which case..... well.... ITS STILL IDIOTIC and very questionable behavior 'coach".

The girl is 10!! You teach them basic punches and combo's, learn about conditioning, work on basic defense, lots of shadow boxing, and bag and mit work. She's done her own "sparring" with boys in school and in her neighborhood.

I would never put her in a situation out matched and it isnt certain that she will pursue boxing. Right now its a tool that helps her expend energy in a positive format.
