    I was watching a documentary about American criminals from the black and white TV era called America in colour where they change black and white footage of American historical footage to colour and a page of a newspaper in the 30`s was flashed onscreen and one the headlines stated Dempsey ws attacked by a women, that`s al I saw of that article, does anyone know the full story?

    Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there was a story in 1934 that when Dempsey got rough with one of the wrestlers in a bout he was refereeing the wrestler's wife jumped into the ring and attacked him. By one account she gave him "a thorough pasting and finally forced him to retire in a groggy and battered condition."

    Maybe she thought it was real and jumped in thinking Dempsey was really hitting her husband.

    Abraham Lincoln was also a battered husband as was John Wayne, Lincoln`s wife suffered from bi-polar.

    So did Wayne for the way he portrayed native Americans in his romantic westerns about the 'old west', but I don`t like anyone getting humiliated like that, my friend got beat up by a girl as a kid and told his older sister who had to go and fight the girl on her brothers behalf.

    Maybe, but the girl that attacked my pal had a younger sister that I punched in the face when I was 12, I feel bad about that now,she added me on facebook a year ago, lol!

    Dunno why Waynes copping flak for this. He was an actor, he didnt write the scripts. All his wives and ex-wives were latin/south american

    I' imagine she received more than one from him. Corbett's Wife charged him with domestic abuse.So did Langford's ,only to withdaw it later
