With all these next influx of top fighters the last few years and the best of each weight class seemingly fighting each other and unifying women’s boxing is deffo on a huge upward trajectory. All we need is the rounds to go to 3 minutes for title fights I’d say but the next few years gonna be interesting to say the least

The depth in women`s boxing is awful, look how few fights Sheilds had before winning the world title and look at how she`s only had 2 KO`s also, woman`s boxing is light years behind mens, Savannah Marshall is the only female that can finish as well as a man, she`s awesome but the exception to the rule.

Meant at the top of the weight divisions. I agree it’s not great once you get into the lower depths but it’s greatly improve in last 2/3 years and hopefully it keeps on getting better

I've honestly only watched a few fights. I do think like MMA it will develop quickly as the level is that much lower than the men's sport.
We saw women's MMA develop at a fast rate with the fighters now being more rounded and a lot better than 5 or 10 years ago.
It needs more people participating to give it more depth but that may take some time.

At least there's more of the top women fighting eachother, but that's quite inevitable with the huge lack of depth. They have to fight eachother, because there's basically nobody else.
Certainly in the bigger divisons where basically being in it gives you an almost automatic top 10 rating.
If you have a belt, you just can't fight opponents who lost 2 of their last 3 fights, but remain in the top10 because nobody else is there. Or the same opponents 3 times over, to avoid the actual challenges.

No self-respecting boxing fan would bother watching that crap.

I thought this a few years ago but it feels like it's hit a plateau.

    I agree.
It needs to hit a next level before it becomes at least somewhat competitive

There’s some better top tier women’s boxers now, but below that it’s still not great, hopefully the rise in popularity will help this.

is it though? it's being more promoted and public, but I don't think most of the people care about it.

It's definitely made some big strides in recent years. But lets be honest it's still miles behind men's boxing. We still haven't had a huge crossover star who can headline and sell a PPV like Rousey did in MMA and the lack of depth is still a serious problem. In terms of women's sports in general it's below football, tennis and athletics.

It will take time for the sport to grow, nobody in this era or probably even the next will likely become mainstream crossover stars. It will take years of investment and growth at a grass roots level to bring forward greater depth for the sport to begin to match football let alone men's boxing. The sport will need a big star along with the depth for it to really take off and it's nowhere near that right now.

Just think with this influx of major fights at least within women’s boxing it’s allowing for more people to take note. Think the Shields/Marshall rivalry could really have a major effect and be a historic moment as far as women’s boxing. With the new talents coming into women’s boxing and unification fights everywhere it’s indeed looking good for women’s boxing. If I’m correct there’s gonna be 2 undisputed title matches on one card which is mental regardless of who’s in them fights. Yes the depth is poor but give it let’s say 5 years and it could look different. I give credit to Eddie Hearn and sky sports for having a big impact

You’re correct it’s not near men’s boxing at all and may never be but it has took huge strides and you’re right in that women’s boxing hasn’t got that transcendent talent like rousey was to women’s MMA. I just think at least for me it seems like Women’s boxing is getting better and better but for it to really break out you need a women who has real KO power to come in and really get eyes on them which ain’t gonna happen with 2 minute rounds atm
