Women's boxing generally hasn't been able to have sustained success. Look at the boxrec top 25 for women (pick a division), the number of participants isn't there.

They also don't always fight each other despite the smaller numbers (Christy Martin vs Lucia Rijker never happened, Laila Ali vs Anne Wolfe didn't either).

There is also the "it" factor, I don't think any of these women now have the star power of what someone like Rousey was able to command when she was on top either.

Why? well our lord and master, Edward Hearn says it’s so, it’s game changing, don’t you know!

Because it's being hyped to hell and given screentime in the UK despite the abject lack of organic demand.

In other words, it isn't getting big. We're just being invaded by 'gender equality' BS.

It’s not getting bigger per se, It’s getting more attention because of Katie Taylor and Claressa Shields. Hopefully they’ll have some lasting effect on Its depth as It’s never gonna be worthwile as long as there are a couple dozen fighters in each division.

    No

EDIT: and one of the reasons why I like more and more the mid-week russian promoted fights is that my fight night is not split by two chicks trying to box and miserably failing. So I can enjoy the fight night without problems or anything bothering me.

The very few elite women are sometimes decent to watch. But I have seen title challengers in the ring last year who looked like they stepped in the ring for the first time in their life, truely shocking.

I dont really care about it, but I choose it over women's football all day long.

Shields and Marshall are in a division that has 28 active boxers, with only 12 other boxers that have winning records.

Once those two fight each other they will go back to beating punching bags or they will simply retire to pursue other interests
