I might be in the minority here (not for the first time!) but did anyone else find the showing of Angel McKenzie's 'bout' on Saturday's Cleverly v McIntosh undercard both tasteless and unwatchable? I may be accused of sexism and double standards, but two girls hitting each other repeatedly to the head just seems wrong to me....... Maybe I'm being old fashioned, but I was brought up in a working class, Irish household, where the boys drank, fought and played football, while the girls cooked, brought up the kids and followed 'gentle' pursuits. The fairer sex just don't belong in a boxing ring, and I hope never to attend a show featuring such a pairing, I believe most men of a similar background to myself would tend to share that view. Any opinions, guys?:thumbsup or :nono
I also saw some of it and apart from being tasteless it was also a **** fight, compared to mens boxing there was just a lot of jabbing and no power and it was slow. I don't know if all womens boxing is the same but I would guess it is to some degree. It almost looked like a spoof fight. There are some sports that men and women can play, some that are only really for women (netball, synchronised swimming etc,) and some that should only be for men - boxing should be one of those, it looked unnatural watching two women fight. I've never watched womens rugby but I would imagine that would be a similar load of shite.
The worst part in Women boxing when they are smashing their tits.. I really have to change the channel..:-( It just does not feel right for me, what can you do..:blood
If women want to box, they should appear in women only boxing shows. I reckon 99% of boxing audiences have no interest in seeing women in the ring, except when they're the card girl between rounds, wearing little except a g string and a smile!
:good I actually made Thread about this thing while back. One thing what is hilarious in women boxing is when they get mad they always start to Brawl. man, you know women:hey **** they game plan, it is a WAR
Chicks could (but are never likely to) fight with the aggression of Tyson, the ring generalship of Roy Jones jr, and the defensive nouse of BHop, but I'd still not cross the road to watch 'em. It just ain't, and never will be, right.
Didn't that card just get gradually worse? Started off strong with two wars and then we get some odd celebrity match with two women, one 3-15, the other 0-4, topping it all off with 500+ pounds of ugly heavyweight fat.
I dont mind women boxing but that was utter shite and did not deserve to be put on tv theres alot more female boxers out there in the uk that deserve TV time
I recorded the card as I was out on Saturday night, when I saw that on Sunday morning I immediately fast-forwarded. Aparently it was a farce.
If women want to box then power to them. I can't say that I watch any female boxing, but I have absolutely no problem with it being on ITV.
Me neither. So long as the rest of the card's over and I can hit the 'off' button without fear of missing any real action.
