Clara Lescurat of Argentina vs. Ewelina Wicherska of Poland, 51kg (flyweight)

 

While most of presumably are not up on the amateur women's scene (hell, most would probably struggle to name a dozen active professionals) - there are some names of note participating in the world championships.

At flyweight alone you have:

Marlen Esparza (2012 bronze medalist, probably the best US female amateur with a style that is pro-ready)

Stoyka Petrova of Bulgaria, who also fought in London in 2012, advancing into the quarterfinals and losing to eventual gold medalist Nicola Adams of the UK.

Mandy Bujold of Canada, who frequently medals at smaller international tourneys. (not hard on the eyes :hey http://crossfitkitchener.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/mandy1001.jpg)

The WC's are continuing every day until Monday, except for 11/22.

Tomorrow is Day 5 of the Prelims, with a five-hour session at 2pm and one more at 7pm local time in Jeju. (that's midnight EST tonight and 5am tomorrow morning EST)

Friday is the Quarterfinals, also broken into two sessions, 2 & 7pm Jeju time.

Sunday is the Semifinals, in the same format.

Monday will be the Finals at 2pm Jeju time.
