Other notables who captured gold medals in Jeju on Monday:

Katie Taylor of Ireland, 60kg (lightweight) - also took gold in 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012.

Claressa Shielda of the USA, 75kg (middleweight) - beat every single opponent in the championships by either knockout or shutout!

Nazym Kyzaibay of Kazakhstan, 48kg (light flyweight) - 2nd world championship appearance, took bronze in 2012, defeated Sarjubala Devi of India who is considered the country's biggest medal prospect in the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Shields and Taylor both also took gold at the London Olympics in 2012. Esparza bronzed.
