Not a facet of the sport I routinely dig into but with the recent Ann Wolfe segment I've dug into it a little.

Kind of depressing... Anne's career high payday was 30,000 dollars. That's ****ing pathetic. Her other 24 fights combined? She didn't get that much COMBINED for them. That's unbelievable.

You sure as hell known Laila Ali made a million dollars or thereabouts a fight later on.

    Anyway, some general discussion.

Have there ever been female fighters say, as precise and well schooled as the most elite male fighters? Women who really mastered the sport.

Who are your favorites, if any?

    The GOAT?

I have truly tried to get into woman's boxing...These gals have massive heart, I would almost say given their position in the sport right now they have more ticker then most of the men and lord knows women can have ridiculous pain threshholds.

But I have almost never enjoyed one woman's boxing bout from the dozens upon dozens I have watched..the skill level and athleticism is just not on par with the men's.
I think woman's boxing is important, and the future of the sport..quite possibly might be its saviour down the track but I just dont like it...really cant get into it at all.

It's deinitely a interesting duality to women and what's expected from society and what not.

Im not trying to get into an in depth philosophical and intellectual debate about the perceptions people have of women competing in violent sports like boxing when they traditionally havent.

Its really as simple for me as I just dont like it...just like Ive tried to like anchovies since I was a kid, used to eat them all the time to try to acquire the taste but I dont like them.

Women's boxing is still pretty young so it will take a very long time for it to be held at a high quality. Mind you there are some boxers that are already high quality but the field itself at the moment is not impressive.

Add to the fact that women do not exactly receive much encouragement to pursue a career in the fighting arts.
