It's going to difficult writing this article without sounding like a sexist misogynist, but I'll give it a go. So Fast-Car recently signed Katie Taylor, who has her pro debut this Saturday on a matchroom undercard. He's also held talks with Nicola Adams over the last couple of weeks about joining matchroom. Now, can anyone on here honestly say they would pleased to spend their hard earned on watching women box professionally? It's clear what Edwina is upto. He's seen the support and popularity that Holly Holm managed to assemble and is trying to replicate the same thing in boxing. Not a chance. As much as I loath the UFC, it has a violence and brutality (even at the womens level - which is what's key here) to be attractive. Watching women pit patter (let's not kid ourselves, it's exactly what they do) each other for 3 x 3 minute rounds or whatever it is is not going attract the masses which is what Hearn is after. And if I'm spending my hard earned on a fight (whether at the event itself or on PPV) I'd rather the undercard not be filled with these pointless exhibitions at the expense of more exciting and worthy undercard fights. Nicola Adams today said "she thinks we are not far away, maybe a couple of years, from women headlining a fight in Las Vegas." Jesus. So, womens boxing...interested? Or is it just one big boring snoozefest?
We have the best female boxer of the world here in Belgium but nobody cares to be honest. Women boxing is disgusting, most like all the female sports beside tennis. Good for them to have fun, but aint nobody got time for that.
If women want to fight thats up to them but the bbc in the uk are pushing this and women's football very hard .I am afraid Iam not interested all the boxing fans I know including women aren't either .iam not sexiest just not interested. The people pushing women's sport aren't interested in sports just the political correctness of it.
When I'm watching porn on low volume at work and someone here's the noises through my headphones, I normally pretend it's women's tennis
I do like womens pro fights, and some are way more active than mostly of touching-hugging-fouling system many male boxers have adquired lately. The problem is the media itself that don't actually promove those fights so brilliant matches are never noticed. No media = no knowledge = no fans = no money = no incentive for pros = less competitive = less media
Knock out power. a serious lack of it in the women's game. I'm not just in it for the stoppages but knowing that a game changer can come out of nowhere adds a whole lot of excitement to a fight. Other than that there is no reason we can't have a future flo Mayweather or Andrea ward.
Bored feminists trying to make a point. The irony of feminism is that it gets women behaving like men LOL
I'll tune in everytime they show Clarissa Shields on TV. Her fight was the most entertaining fight on the entire undercard. (Had to watch it on ESPN3 tho) Unless u liked watching Hooker get schooled by Pérez.
