Why was Bob Arum in such a rush to put Pacquaio in the ring with somebody besides Floyd? I mean this fight with Clottey was made 2Days after negotiations broke down with floyd. Did Clottey call Pac out to fight? Was Clottey even on the list next to fight Pacquiao? Does Clottey have a Belt? Did the fans ask for this fight to be made? I dont understand this fight happening at all. Why Bob Arum couldnt wait 1 or 2 weeks to negotiate more or find a better opponent for pac? Also if he plans on putting Margarito on the undercard he could have easily had Pac fight Margarito right and the public would have been much happier. I feel like they are forcing this fight on the fans with all this Cowboys stadium and Cheer leaders with Jerry Jones. Seems like a pure money making event for Arum and Top Rank. Its not for the boxing fans or to advance Pac's career. He is taking advantage of the pacquiao fans because he knows they are going to watch and come to see Pac fight anyway. WE ARE THE FOOLS HE TAKE US FOR CAUSE WE ARE GOING TO SUPPORT THIS NON-IMPORTANT FIGHT ANYWAY!!! JOKES ON US FELLAS! THE DAY ARUM WENT TO TEXAS HE SAW MAJOR $$$ SIGNS IN HAVING A FIGHT THERE AND MADE PLANS WITHOUT MAYWEATHER RIGHT AWAY. GREEDY AZZ ARUM KNOWS HE WILL MAKE THE MAYWEATHER FIGHT LATER THIS YEAR ANYWAY! HE WILL MAKE 100 MILLION THIS YEAR ALONE.

Clottey is a really good opponent for Pac. The only concern I would have is clottey taking in on about 8 weeks notice. I think he was going to fight someone else wasnt he? Anyways I hope he is at his best form in March.

To secure the March 13th date and to make sure they sealed the deal for Cowboys Stadium. If they had 'waited', Floyd could've stolen the date.

    Does any of this matter?

He was going to find? Mosley and Berto were still shacked up, He beat Cotto, Paul Williams and Top Rank will never work together again unfortunately. It was the first thing they could think of beside Yuri friggin Foreman

Not really. I thought/think the same way but Margarito is still despised publicly. Basically nobody they picked not named Floyd Mayweather (JR or Sr for that matter) was going to be liked and rightfully so.

They're not forcing it. Don't like it? Don't watch. That's what I'll be doing.

    You're absolutely right.

He's giving Pacquaio fans what they want which is a Manny fight. I don't like it. Don't agree with it and find it to be bull**** but his fans will watch him fight as will the casual observers. It's just how it is.

Just don't order it. He tried this with David Diaz and that fight did poorly. Just don't order it and save your money for something else.

Of course, Arum NEVER wanted the fight with Floyd, he expressed disinterest in it from the start. Why risk Pac losing, when he can still have him fight Clottey and Margo and then cash out against Mayweather.

    It's simple.

Arums a business man, he knows how much Mayweather needs $$ and wasn't going to bow to his requirements, they hate each other with a passion, remember?

He's a business man, Clottey was plan B.

Mayweather was a no-go, so who else would you rather Pac fought, who else availible would 'further Pacs career'?

I'm not over the moon about this fight being made, but I'm not looking at it as negatively as you are, Clottey's no push over.

Margo is an ******* and doesnt deserve a big fight. And Clottey's defense is superior to Margo by miles. Pac likes guys he can hit easy which is Margo. Clottey is much harder to hit so style wise it will be a hard opponent for Pac. I think Pac would be more likely to KO Margo than Clottey, you could put it that way.

No one was bitching when Pac fought Cotto so why all the uproar when he's facing Clottey who arguably won the fight against Cotto and ignoring opinion and stating facts, Clottey outlanded Cotto in the final punch stats of that fight.

I think clottey is a tougher fight for pac than marg and a solid oppenant for pac.
This fight was made so quickly because pac had to fight in march. He'll be away from boxing after that march date until June i believe (running for some congrees bull**** in his country). So arum was pressed to find an opponent. He tried Yure Foreman, roach/pac didn't want it.... he then suggested clottey and roach/pac bit.
