Wonderful Wednesday Match -Joe Frazier V Rocky Marciano For The Whole Ball Of Wax

I disagree, Rocky had the better chin, and was more unpredictable.

Rocky's chin was never tested by a huge puncher ala Foreman and I highly doubt he fairs any better than Frazier did. On the other hand, I can't see Walcott and Moore dropping Frazier.

Both had excellent stamina, I can't with confidence say who's was superior. Not much between them.

 

It would be a clash between two angry billy goats. Neither guy will back off or use their legs, they would meet ring center plant their feet and go to war. Even though Frazier has quicker hands, It's possible Rocky's shorter arms give him a slight edge up close because he has a shorter range of motion to complete a punch. Rocky also hits harder and is a constant 2 fisted threat.

On the other hand, Frazier had better defense and was a more polished combination puncher. Rocky had an incredible gas tank, but his habit of throwing wild reckless shots could drain him in a phone booth battle, especially as Frazier is targeting the body.

Over 12 I expect Frazier to win a close decision. There would definitely be some knockdowns, but given how much they smother each other's punches there may not be a KO unless someone walks into the perfect shot. Over 15, there's a chance Rocky wears Frazier down and stops him late or scores a come from behind KO, but I can't see him out pointing Frazier who is the more technically sound inside fighter with superior speed and defense. It isn't impossible for Frazier to stop Rocky either.
