Wood v Conlan - Nottingham 12 March 2022

Disagree tbh, I mean no one wants these pathetic secondary belts obviously, but Conlan has done nothing to warrant a world title fight even when there are 4 belts in every weight class.

 

Santa Cruz has been allowed to keep his WBA super belt so this will be for the regular. Won’t stop Eddie ‘too many belts in boxing’ Hearn flogging it as a proper world title though.

 

Wonder what happened with Xu Can and the rematch?
Find it odd that Xu hasn't taken the rematch. Wonder if Eddie paid him off? Or he just didn't fancy it. Would be surprised if it was the latter as I felt it only took a slight change in tactics for Xu to change the whole flow of the fight.
Maybe a full house at Nottingham will pay Xu and then he hopes Wood keeps the belt vs Conlan and he keeps the belt at MR. There's a big fight with LSC on the horizon should wood win.
