    TOUCH WOOD

GARTH WOOD wasn't the only winner on Wednesday night - members of the Wood camp won themselves a combined $500,000. Garth was paying $11 for a KO. And as for Garth's father, Barry, - you may remember him saying he had $1 million to bet - he's not saying how much he won on the fight. ''My $1 million bet offer was genuine,'' Barry said. ''I would have bet any part of the $1 million at the prevailing odds. I had some bites but they wanted me to take even money. I refused, saying: 'Only Pakistan cricketers take even money about a 10-1 shot'.'' The Woods camp has entered discussions for a WBA interim world title fight in March. The opponents name is Hassan N'Jikam. The Hordern Pavilion or Acer Arena will be the venue.

Sounds like all talk to me throwing a talented prospect like N'Jikam aroud bu I guess we'll wait and see.

Even though Wood KO Mundine, he was far from impressive, and I seriously doubt his handlers are dumb enough that he is ready for a skilled boxer like N'Jikam. Wood's camp are in a position where they are now well-known in the media and stand to make a decent amount of $$ in their next fight, so I don't know if they'd really want to tango with a good fighter. I think an Australian opponent would have a better chance (i.e. Bika or Geale)

If they take this fight Woods is finished, it has to be a gee up, similar to cumdine making mention of mayweather and cotto imo

He will be fighting Mundine, that is where the money will be.

He may as well take the fight. There was plenty of discussion that Mandy was looking at N'jikam about 12 months ago... well, that is until they heard he could punch.

N'Jikam would **** Wood up. Decorated amateur, developed into a highly skilled unbeaten pro. Wood should steer well clear of him.

I would love to see Garth go on a Cinderella type run like our Steve Robinson did (it's good for the soul you know) , he deserves it on guts and determination but sadly Anthony will buy the chance to avenge the defeat and succeed , Garth will end up taking the fast way to earning his young family a decent amount of money and who can really blame the bloke ? , at the end of the day he pulled off one of the biggest boxing upsets in his countries history and will be quite rightly dining out on it for the rest of his born natural . Good luck Garth . :good
