Just watched Woodhall on Boxing tonight and he reckons an upset could be on the cards in Murray beating Golovkin. On a serious note, can anyone see this happening? Cause I can't. I think Murray is a world class MW but I don't think any MW atm can beat Golovkin
Murray is world class, golovkin however is special...he'll take Murray out within 6 IMO. He just doesn't have the upper body movement you need to make golovkin miss, murrays shell defence is tailor made for GGG.
the Murray from the Sturm/Martinez/Blackwell fights would have a chance , he'd give him a really tough night... Murray was looking like a real star them times. But since the Martinez fight I don't know why but he's seems flat and off form and has gone really boring to watch.. maybe it's do with that Virus he had. He doesn't seem like the same fighter. If he comes in the way he's been since the Martinez fight it's gonna be an easy night for Golovkin.
To beat GGG you need to have either raw power or amazing boxing ability, sadly martin doesn't have either. I could see Canelo beating him though. Murray will be the best opponent he has fought. Let's hope he surprises us all.
he has great Defence and Ring IQ and is a solid all rounder who when on form like against Sergio Martinez.. can perform to a plan brilliantly. If the Murray from the martinez fight is back you never know.
No chance, good on martin for getting a good payday but he's going to have to toss golovkins salad come fight night the same as every other middleweight.
Murray is a good Top 10 Middleweight but also massively over-rated by some people. Murray lost to Sturm 8rds to 4, maybe 7-5 at the most but he lost. Only got a draw because people were outraged by Sturm getting a win over Macklin and they over compensated in the next fight. Also Murray couldn't beat a one legged fighter in Martinez who was there for the taking. I had that fight a draw if you counted the 2nd KD and a close win for Sergio if you don't as he won 7rd out of the 12. Murray might survive for a while against GGG but eventually he would get taken out by around the 8th.
Murray won't beat GGG. But I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it when the distance. In fact I would be shocked if Golovkin stopped Murray.
Woodhall doesn't really believe that I could tell in the commentary on Saturday night but hes a nice guy and doesn't want to put Murray down. Wont go past 6 rounds, as big as Murray is for the weight he don't hit hard enough to keep triple g off
Woodall is usually a very accurate and level headed commentator. I'm surprised at him coming out with this nonsense. Union Jack tinted glasses I fear. Murray won't wins round against GGG.
I think he could do it, he is a very good fighter but its obviously unlikely, from all the GGG fights I have seen I haven't seen him caught clean and what happens to him when he is. I'm not saying he is chinny or anything like that but if he is hurt, does he go into his shell or does he become tired after 8, 9 or 10 rounds again not saying he will but he hasn't been taken the rounds against a top Middleweight so it will be interesting to see if Murray can get through what will inevitably be an early storm from GGG
