Yep, Erdei's camp made an offer now it's Green's decision if he accepts it or not. Anyways, things are finally looking somewhat promising in the division.
It would be sweet, true. But no, I for my part would definitely root for Erdei. You know old habits...
It depends. If Erdei actually travels to fight for it and looks good in winning, he may very well decide he wants a bit more of it against guys like Woods and Dawson. But looking at it now, your right, it'd be better for Green to win.
Hey, you gotta stick with your favorites. I'm about the only Jermain Taylor fan left here, so I understand.
I just don't trust Erdei. Hopefully, though, you're right that if he wins, he'll be enticed to fight away from home for greater recognition and bigger money(?). At any rate, I hope this fight happens.
Woods beats Tarver more comfortably than people think. Dawson may have some trouble with johnson who has faded but as we all know is tough as hell. Woods - Dawson unification would be good and with Green and Erdei wanting to unify and Hopkins-Calzaghe coming along aswel 175 could be a division to watch!
I think dawson beats johnson, but, I think it'll be close. 116-112 range. Johnson will keep coming. He'll outwork Dawson in a few rounds, but, Dawson has enough pop to keep him off of him. I think Woods defeats Tarver comfortably. Probably also in the 116-112 range. Tarver doesn't have a high enough work rate to keep Woods off of him. I think Tarver's last great performance is going to be the Johnson rematch. I don't think he has either the ability, desire or the stamina to maintain a high work rate. He will need to either KO Woods or catch him hard with some shots to deter Woods from coming after him.
Interesting. I view 116-112 as a clear decision, not close. There definitely are very competitive fights with that score, but I wouldn't say that Jones and Hopkins (116-112) really was a close fight. Anyway, it's just interesting. I view Dawson/Johnson about the same way. Johnson will probably win a couple rounds early, then maybe pick at a couple later -- including the 12th -- but otherwise Chad will control him pretty well. He's too slick and fast for Johnson now. Totally agreed about Tarver's last big-time performance being Johnson II. I've been saying that for a while. That was the last time he fought with any sort of purpose and workrate. He's looked anemic ever since. I think Woods will outpoint him easily and draw some blood during the course of that fight. Let's hope Clinton has a good experience, so that he'll be willing to fight the Dawson/Johnson winner later.
