Montiel was a Golden Boy fighter.

He now fights with Top Rank.
So only Mijares is the non Top Rank boxer.

This would be a great card, it's not only a great unification fight as the head liner between two elite fighters, but it gives way to set up Donaire vs. the winner, bringing further interest to whoever becomes 'the man' out of these series of fights.

Any news on who he's taking on the 2nd of August?

I don't know about august but I'm pretty pumped about this possible card. Finally gets the ball moving for this division and lets us all see what we want to see already!

Great, great card, I really hope this gets signed. Respect to all the fighters involved for looking to fight the best out there.

I'll Take Mijares and Donaire by decision.

Great possible card but I have my doubts it comes off on the same card. I like Mijares and Donaire if it does though.

You think Arce can last 12 at this point with a puncher like Donaire?:think

He will lose, but he will go out like a warrior on his ****ing shield Erik Morales style. That alone makes both fighters Doniare and Arce earn massive respect regardless!

Arce needs to Viciously attack Doniare's body with his lethal hooks. When Arce fought southpaw Mijares he was at a gap + up against amazing boxing slickness and counter punching ability. Because lets face it...Arce is 50x faster than Vic Darchinyan, and his punches are 50x more compact and technical. I'm not saying Nonito can't handle speed, but he will have to if these fights come off. Arce can punch, and he HAS to invest in body shots, and if he can slow Doniare down considerably and get him out of his element then don't be surprised if this fight isn't so "one sided"

I'd agree with this post and entirely and no disrespect to Donaire, a good fighter, but a prime Arce could be an immense problem stylistically for Donaire, though I don't agree as it stands now.

Arce seems 'shot' as of late. I'd expect Donaire to keep range and land on Arce with ease, eventually grinding him out like he did over Maldo.

Arce will definitley chin check Donaire though, it'll tell much, because he can still punch.

I like Arce and am kinda giving him the benfit of the doubt in this one. He may be faded but I still think his chin will be able to hold up against Donaire, despite taking a beating. Donaire doesn't have the workrate of Mijares, nor is he as accurate, I don't think he'll be able to do enough accumilative damage in order to stop Arce.

Mijares may not be a puncher, but he landed hundreds of perfectly placed shots on Arce. Even then Arce was still standing at the end (although he was hurt quite a few times). Donaire has the power, but I think he'll be a bit more defensive due to the workrate and power of Arce.

Despite all this a KO is not out of the question, I just expect Donaire to be a little tentative and not put out the workrate required to KO Arce. Either way Donaire will give him a beating, whether or not he stops him.
