I've now got visions of Ricky Burns going up to his manager and asking for Thursday, Friday and Saturday off.

When told no, he manages to negotiate a swap with a colleague for the first two days, but Saturday is his turn to stand at the entrance like a plank and just say ''alright'' to people when they walk in - nobody will swap for that surely.

So Ricky pulls a sicky and then turns up to work the following Monday all bashed up but still champion, only to be dragged into a disciplinary where some numpty gives him a verbal warning and sends him home because he isn't giving a good impression on the company.

I know a lot of folks don't rate Mitchell at all. I agree that Burns would win, but this is why he should get it over with now, before he moves onto bigger fish. A fight that would sell, a fight that he would win, and it would stop all the talk about ducking.

 

Good on Burns, Frank will be giving him peanuts.
