The continued recognition of multiple fighters in each division as champion, just because someone gave them a belt. It has to stop, it's bad for boxing.

It makes it less competitive. Instead of having multiple great fights for one title, you end up having several good fighters controlled by different promoters. These promoters then have their fighters face bad to ok opposition, and multiple title claims go on and on because none of the promoters want to be the one promoting a former champion. They want to be the one with the champion. Unification fights go unmade, and we are left so desperate to watch something we look forward to seeing Klitschko defend against Ray Austin.

It is time for this to stop. I don't know just following the Ring Magazingechampion is the correct answer. One, they're owned by a promotional company, and 2nd they're a magazine. Their primary job should be news.

To be honest, we could stop it. If the fans come together behind the best fighter from each division, refuse to acknowledge the paper champions as anything other than contenders, make fun of title fights that do not involve the real champion; a lot of this would clear up.

    "Let's get ready to rumbllllllllle!!!!"

It's been played out for years. Now he pimps the phrase. Michael Buffer simply annoys the hell out of me.

I get annoyed everytime Buffer introduces fighters. He draws out the last syllable of the name to ridiculous lengths and the poor fighter is trying not to punch his fist or shoeshine too early, so he tries to time it with Buffer's exhale -and his timing is always off.

    Damn I miss Chuck Hull:

    .... ooops. Damn.

In terms of boxing discussion, I have to say that the classic section doesn't have many of these, aside from those already stated like "best" and "bum". "Prime" is sometimes necessary to distinguish who and when, but maybe it's time that we just took for granted that when we're matching guys up, we're matching up the prime version. It strikes me as obvious anyway. The problem is someone will say "well, Joe Louis didn't look so formidable when he fought Jersey Joe" -which forces us to say the word.

Buffer was fun and novel for a while, but he's grown too hollywood for me.

Its not a particular word or phrase, but the one that annoys me the most is when people claim that one guy got a wiin because his opponent did something wrong, I HATE THAT!!!!!

Totally takes away from the deserving party!

I :censored hate the word "OUTCLASSED" when attached to a close fight.
How can a fighter be outclassed in a SD victory, or a majority win?

he (WAS TO SMALL TO COMPETE WITH)the much bigger stronger boxers of today ,u hear this constantly-like the great sam langford tho 5,7 and at his heaviest 185-192 could problobly take out half of todays heavys,or GREB,or ROCKY,DEMPSEY,TUNNEY just because alot of old timers didnt have that extra 30 pounds of fat such as half of todays heavys or they were a little smaller the punching muscles(fast twitch muscle fibers) dont really depend on size as much as people think, even the great joe louis often weighed just under 200 pounds ,compared to the average 235 ? pound heavies today

    "Handpicked Opposition"

Any manager that's worthy of the term, and the job, is going to pick opponents in order to advance their fighter's career in some way, shape, or form. In the process of choosing one fighter, that obviously means that another fighter is not going to be chosen, and therefore "ducked".

I visibly cringe when someone says a fighter was weight drained. It's become nothing more than an excuse for when their favorite fighter loses.

The only term that comes to mind is EXPOSED (AS A FRUD) as in after a boxer loses for the first time.
