Words and phrases that are annoyingly overused in boxing?

Athletic.

Robbery.

 

Anything and everything Teddy Atlas has ever said.

 

Bum should never be used about a man who has the courage to be a pro boxer Most often used by ****s that have never given or taken a blow . Most overused word in boxing?

Feather-fisted: Though some guys are truly feather fisted, plenty of guys have perfectly average power for their class and just do not get stoppages. Usually because of style, and lack of aggression or accuracy.

 

Any time someone calls a fighter "like a mini-Mike Tyson"

 

I think it's a problem with THE INTERNET IN GENERAL.

Basically, forums (talkbacks/whatever) aren't really a good place for nuanced debate. Plus because of the anonymity no one is accountable for the things they say.

So you get some idiot kid calling a pro-fighter a "bum" because it's shorthand and they lack either the time/inclination/ability to make their point by breaking down his style or defensive flaws.

 

Stylistic nightmare.

I hate that saying givin that most of the fighters we see are talented enough to adapt their styles throughout the fight.

 

Disagree. Styles are part of boxing.

 

A side / B side. People are way too interested in the business side of boxing nowadays.

 

"All he has to do is box"

 

In the UK newspapers love to use the phrase 'box clever'. It absolutely drives me up the wall for some reason.
