What information/ ideas have your trainers given you? Or own experiences?

Basically so people aren't always opening exchanges with a jab

my coaches have started encouraging me to throw the lead straight, because they have been saying that I open up exchanges with the jab far too often. They say to do it to mix things up. I like the 2,3,2 combo a lot.

Off topic, but How do you feel about ending exchanges with the jab?

My general rule is to be on the move when leading with certain power punches. When the guy I'm sparring with is ad******g to the new angles and finds it harder to counter or block.
I'll also use lots of feints throughout so that, after a while, every reaction from them mostly to shell up which leaves me with more options other than the jab.
Gotta catch them either unprepared or overly prepared (if that makes sense).
My only problem or concern with diff. leads is that I don't get much power behind them. I mostly use them to maintain control or set a rhythm for me and sparring partners. Doesn't always work :!:

Hopkins - Trinidad should give you plenty of ideas.

In regards to leads, I learned a lot from BHOP.

Get them working on feints. You can literally lead with any punch if you can feint well.

It's ridiculously easy for someone who always leads with the jab to get good at leading with the right by feinting a jab and throwing a right. It's essentially what they're already used to.

    This!

The reason why Hopkins was so successful against Tito was because Trinidad fell for every feint.

I'd also get them to work on the jab to the body to break up the typical amateur pawing/jabbing up top. Mayweather is fantastic at this.
