Just curious when you train at least 4 to 5 times a week does sex have an effect on your performance in the gym and in boxing. If it does can you only have sex during non training days, after workouts, or before? I really want to know.
There is more superstition than science when it comes to this topic. First, ask yourself what you are taking about. If you have a sex partner and spend 30 minutes humping, then you will expend some energy. Enough energy to drain a reasonably fit individual? Hardly. It is just a bit of good exercise for you. So, you must be talking about the orgasm. After a guy orgasms he will feel nice and relaxed because of the endorphins that are released (I think this is where the "drained" crap comes from). This only lasts for a short while. I would not worry about it. Don't wack-off in the middle of a training session and you will be fine.
Why not? It would release endorphins which would make you feel nice and relaxed. You can focus better on the training, since you are nice and relaxed and you would be able to put in more effort and take more pain, because of all those nice endorphins. :hey Oh, yeah, you'd expend energy! atsch Ehmmm...get someone to wack you off at the beginning of the training session...win, win!:good
Whacking off in the middle of a training session wouldn't be catastrophic, but I was trying to meet the "sex makes legs weak" brigade half way.
Seriously, I find that orgasm is great at getting you relaxed, which is bound to be great for your performance. Only downside is that you spend a lot of nervous energy when you orgasm...which isn't so great, because in a fight you need to be relaxed, sure, but you need to have a lot of nervous energy too! So, it's a trade-off. Sometimes, it takes the edge off a bit when you have too much nervous energy and cannot relax sufficiently to perform well, whereas at other times, it drains you emotionally too much and you become a limp. It's hard to predict precisely what the effect will be, I find. I wouldn't have sex less than 6 hours before competition/work-out, though. Night before is better and usually, the night before the night before is even better, I find. But I only speak from personal experience...haven't read any studies. And everyone is different and you react differently to an orgasm at different times...so I would say...find out for yourself...and good luck!:think

wow didnt know that whacking off really helps in relaxing the body for a fight. Coz i didnt know if an orgasm was bad for a boxing performance coz I read and interview on bernard hopkins about a year ago that he abstains from sex and masturbation for a month before a fight to improve performance in a fight. Dont know if he really does it though
I would avoid it. After ejaculating I just wana lie down or go to sleep. Stops me being alert and personally I feel I lose my spring. Besides I feel more focused and 1000x more aggressive without it.
