Been living/working out at roughly 5000 ft above sea level. How will this effect my performance when I get back to normal elevation in about a month? Will living/workout out at this elevation increase my performance when I am home?

You probably won't be able to train with as much intensity and you'd have to be more careful about dehydration but staying there for a month won't do a lot either way. If you're doing some longer sub maximal intensity work you'll probably get some benefits in peripheral adaptations for when you return to sea level.

Sorry didn't read your post properly, you've been living like that for a while... When you return to sea level you'll find that you'll be able to improve your fitness more easily as you'll be able to train at a higher intensty than you're used to whilst living at altiutde.

Sweet. Yea I am on month 4 of living like this. I have been working out relatively hard. I know the hardest part was being able to run when I first got here. Kind of felt like it was more difficult to breathe? I also quit smoking cigarettes about a week before I got here, so maybe that was a factor.
