Uthok cranking up some big rights and landing but Luangphon showing a good chin, and drowning him in jabs & crosses while circumnavigating, outboxing and damaging the veteran.

    Just got this.

So what, the round bell broke, so they shrugged and just sent somebody to the local joke shop for a SFX machine instead?

What the hell was that? Sor Singyu landed a massive right that seemed to rock Chainoi, then he gingerly walked away to reset. Closer round. But more volume from Chainoi.

The Sor Rungvisai/Sithmorseng fight was just a stay-busy fight for Sor Rungvisai, who came into the fight as the #1 ranked challenger at super flyweight by both the WBC and WBO. Sithmorseng is a former minimumweight world champion, but that came by winning a vacant title way back in November 2010, only to get KO'd in his first title defense in April 2011. Since then, he was stopped in both his challenges for a world light flyweight title, and he came into tonight with four stoppage losses in his previous seven fights, with BoxRec currently listing him as the #239-ranked super flyweight in the world.

Sor Rungvisai weighed in at a fit 114.7 pounds for this fight, and he looked very good physically. He started relatively slowly in the 1st round, at an obviously comfortable pace for him, and he paid little attention to his defense, as Sithmorseng managed to connect with several single power shots to the head during the round, but to zero effect on Sor Rungvisai. Sor Rungvisai had Sithmorseng covering up by the 2nd round, and just as the halfway point of the 2nd round passed, Sor Rungvisai stepped up the pace, throwing increasing numbers of combinations of power shots to the head of Sithmorseng, along with the very occasional body shot. (Sor Rungvisai never threw a jab during this entire fight, despite a listed reach advantage of 170cm vs 166cm.) Sithmorseng was already looking fatigued in his corner at the end of the 2nd round, but the 3rd round was even worse for him, as Sor Rungvisai had him pinned against the ropes for much of the round, continuing to throw large numbers of combinations of power shots, landing ~50% or more of them. Towards the end of the round, Sithmorseng was stuck in a corner with Sor Rungvisai overwhelming him with punches, before finally a pair of left uppercuts to the forehead of a crouching Sithmorseng sank him down to the canvas. He got up relatively quickly, and made it to the end of the round. In his corner, he had obvious swelling around his left eye, and although it was not compromising his vision, Sithmorseng apparently opted to retire from the fight due to "pain around the eye". The reason didn't really matter, because the fight needed to be stopped regardless. In the postfight interview, Sor Rungvisai was barely even asked about the fight; instead the focus was on Saturday night's Estrada/Gonzalez WBC/WBA world title unification fight, as Sor Rungvisai is the mandatory challenger for the winner of that fight. Sor Rungvisai wished them both well, but did admit to rooting for Estrada, saying that he had "unfinished business" with him.

Uthok might want to try pressing one of these advantages he creates.

My thoughts exactly. Almost like Sor Singyu said to himself, "oh ****, whoops. I wasn't supposed to hit him that hard!"

    Round 10 Luangphon 10-9

Luangphon bouncing in and out of range, nailing him with stiff jabs and one twos throughout. Sor Singyu started pressuring late, and walked into several vicious straight rights late.

This felt like a glorified sparring session where Sor Singyu was brought in to teach this kid a few lessons, but not even try to beat him.

    100-90 Luangphon

That fight had a bit of a reek about it... and it wasn't coming by way of Denmark.
