He won the world title, but lost it against Muhammad Rachman. He wasn't the challenger in that fight.

I passed out after the 6th - just missing the moment @CST80 described where it seemed like Uthok let the kickboxer off the hook. Weird, though, from my recollection of the first half they were belting each other with some pretty good shots; until that point it didn't have the feel of any kind of handshake deal whatsoever.

    Guess this could explain it:
Thais are goddamn crazy, man. :sisi1 Let's dole out mutual CTE but not be laying it all on the line with both of us actually competing in earnest and trying fully to win.

    Actually yeah it checks out.

Right, forgot he beat Pigmy for the vacant strap. Which is a very low bar; neither had really done anything to warrant a world title shot, even somewhere as sparsely populated as 105lbs. Kwanthai was indeed a champ, albeit very briefly and IMO a paper one.

He is literally next in line for the winner of Estrada vs. González II later tonight. Despite it being hailed as "two legends of Thai boxing", this was always just supposed to be a tuneup massacre; Kwanthai even in his prime was never in Wangek's league.
