    Super Welter W.

    Champion: Floyd Mayweather jr.
    #1 Contender: Erislandy Lara

so Lara is Floyd's mandatory, I wonder if he wishes to keep the belt he would need to defend it against Lara. just like he defended against his mandatory at 147 Robert the Ghost...

    lets make this happen..:bbb

Who is the mandatory for the WBC 154 title?

Lara seems to be the second best JMW while also bringing no fans or money to the table relative to most Floyd opponents. He was the B side against Angulo and that fight was the B side to Maidana/Lopez... Lara would bring less to the table than any opponent Floyd has fought since Baldomir.

So I tend to think it won't happen. Then again, Floyd always ends up fighting guys the public clamors for while they're clamoring for it (one fight aside).

    What will happen:
    -Mayweather beats Canelo.
-WBC orders Mayweather to choose one of the two belts to keep (WBC or WBA), since they are anti-unification.
-Mayweather has a fondness for the WBC belt so he will chose to keep it.
-Mayweather will not be forced to fight his WBA mandatory - Lara.
-Lara fights for vacant WBA belt.

what usualy happens is this(going by what happened with Roman Chocolatito)

the interim becomes the regular champ. the interim becomes vacant and the "Super" awaits for another Champion.. if Lara defends 4 times he becomes the "super" and the interim becomes champ and the interim belts becomes vacant again. and number 2 and 3 box for it

this is what happened with Chocolatito. weird as hell but it happened

The WBC won't allow Mayweather to hold WBC titles in two divisions at the same time. If Floyd beats Canelo, expect him to dump his JMW belts and campaign fu time at WW

the WBC are a bunch of Crooks..if they allowed canelo to keep both belts, they will be very happy Floyd keep theirs... for a $ amount ofcourse.. is all business with these crooks

Canelo has belts from two different orgs. If Mayweather wins, he'll have a WBC belt at both WW, and JMW. That's strictly against the rules. The WBC would make him choose one. That's what they did when Mayweather beat Hoya, that's what they did when Martinez beat Pavlik. They unofficiallly don't want unification, their official rules though prevent guys from holding WBC belts in multiple divisions at the same time.

WBC seems to pick and choose when it comes to following their rules. I doubt they would risk losing Floyd as a titleholder because of their anti-unification rule. With that said I do expect him to stay at 147 after the Canelo fight.

Get ready for the "Floyd is ducking Lara" posts to flood the board.

Lara is pretty much the same position that Guerreo was in. He deserves a big fight (Mayweather), but he's not going to come close to beating him.
