    No, this was just Schaefers suggested purses.

    They later stated the winner will take home at least 10mill.

    It actually sounded like the purses in the 1st round may have actually fluctuated from fighter to fighter. Which would make sense IMO

    Terrible idea, defense is the most important part of boxing, they should give a higher purse for men who show the best defense, who avoids the most punches

    then that would make for a more boring tournament cuz everyone would be enticed to start running.

    Boring is a very vague term and it differs from person to person. Many love to watch defense and the art of boxing.

    This system works well in UFC and gives the lower paid undercard fighters something to aim for.

    Difference surely is mma is more suspectable to knock outs. The gloves make it more likely.

    Yeah that's true.

    They also have bonuses for fight of the night, performance of the night and submission of the night. I just think it would give more incentive for some of these journeyman to give it a go and make the fights more competitive and ultimately entertaining. Imagine a Journeyman fighter earning £1500 but with a shot of bagging a £25k bonus! Of course, corruption in boxing would not allow for that.
