Yeah you're right we should root against any kind of change and keep this thing from being consistent like other sports

No one has said about rooting against this, of course i'm hoping it happens, but at the same time you got to be realistic and realise it's going to be very hard to make the elites fight against the elites.

Fair enough, sure I was skeptical reading Rafael's article about it.

But I'm excited about the concepts....base purse amounts, winner bonus, "coherent storylines" wow that was a great term from Richard Schaefer (btw a guy who can execute, regardless of what one thinks of the Haymon/Oscar baggage)

Speaking of execution the short time line sounded good too, quarters in the fall, semis in January, finals in May. And big money on the line,

Anything that gets away from this **** business we're in now is something to get excited about. Boxing should be a sport, not placing such value on who has the economic muscle to win at the negotiating table. It's like that's the most important thing to a lot of guys on this board, day after day the same old arguments.

I don't care if Tom Brady makes more or less than Peyton Manning. I just want to see a ball game,

    Sorry rant over

I think so too. It will probably still be hard to negotiate individual fights.

I hope they manage to pull it off though.

Which 2 weight classes do you think should participate in the first season?

I think 147 and 175 tournaments would be the most stacked and the most intriguing. Possibly a 200 one to hype up Usyk.

A HW tournament would be cool though, too bad that Fury and Povetkin are out and Wlad and Joshua are about to fight each other anyway. Maybe HW tournament could be done for 2018 when we'll get a more clear picture about the HW division.

    Imagine a 175 tournament:

    Kovalev vs Joe Smith
    Stevenson vs Barrera
    Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk
    Ward vs Eleider Alvarez

Then probably Kovalev vs Stevenson and Beterbiev vs Ward in the semis with the winners facing each other in the grand final.

This would be more than we could ever dream of. Whoever would win that would be a certified ATG.

I wonder what will be the initial weight classes?
I lean towards junior middleweight and junior lightweight...just a guess.
