It was a razor close fight and Smith was landing clean shots throughout.

Oliver Brien 57-57 | Jan Christensen 55-59 | Mauro Di Fiore 59-55

 

I was struggling to give anything to Smith after the 1st round, he was willing but he was just losing out to groves every round, just. But you could sense that he was Guna get through to groves again.

Don't think Smith could stand with groves at all.

 

That for me was definitely the one that done it. Absolute killer of a right that sank into the ribs

The only reason some rounds could have gone to Groves was work rate

 

People saying smith is a weight bully are ridiculous, how can he be a weight bully if he makes weight. Blaming someone for their frame/bone size enabling them to be bigger at a lower weight is stupid.

Frank zane was 180lbs but looked like a super heavyweight. You can’t base what weight a fighter should fight at based on the way they look. Callum Smith weighs 168lbs so therefore he has no weigh in advantage over anyone else in the division.

You just said yourself. Smith wasn't throwing enough. Groves did enough with his jabs and cleaner shots to shade most rounds.

 

Hard to give many clear rounds to Groves there as well. It was razor close. Groves had the better jab but Smith was consistently landing clean hard shots that were hurting Groves.

I'm gutted for Groves I thought this was his chance to become a divisional great
