I agree, the writing was on the wall.

In terms of devaluation though, both times the winner is the clear choice for number 1 in the division. If this trend contiues I'm all for it mate. Not everyone is as amazing as Usyk, some divisions are devoid of talent but as long as we can get a clear choice for number 1 in those divisions it serves its purpose.

Well hats off to callum, the rabbit punch leaves a sour taste but george wasnt reacting to any half heavy shots very well, i think he would have got caught at least a few more times.
GG looks **** at weigh-ins imo and should maybe give 175 a crack.

    Whatever you call it.

    Weight bully. Blah blah.

Smith had groves number from the off.

Lucky punch? That counter left hook was a peach and every right hand was landing on groves chin like a torpedo.

When smith had him hurt on the ropes. That body, uppercut, left hook combo was pure poetry in motion.

Groves u had a good run. Made **** loads of cash but your chin is up there with khan. Retire and enjoy the rest of your life.

    Had Groves 4-2 up.

Smith was basic, bit stiff, but huge and heavy handed. He needs to stay at 168 as long as he can.

I don't fancy his chances against skilled guys at LHW, but he has a good chance of bludgeoning everyone at SMW.

Would love to see him defend his title at Anfield.

I dunno. Smith, Zurdito and Benevidez are all kinda dangerous to fight. If a match-up is made btx any two of them, it'll be fun to watch.

Good point. Was a shiite (see what i dit there?!) card and a basic fight. Not a great finish. Smith is not that good and Groves has fallen off a cliff since his last fight.

You made two. One was that Smith is a weight bully, when he's never had any struggles making weight. Another is that Smith landed a lucky punch.

The insult was you called me a mother******.

    I'm not delusional.

I will not stop quoting people on a boxing forum when they say things I disagree with, kinda defeats the objective does it not? This is a big fight, people will debate it. Feel free to put me on ignore.

Groves' tactics could have been better. He was too high paced in the first few rounds while Callum was so patient and slow, just picking his shots when he saw the spaces open. As soon as I saw Groves, after a few rounds I thought 'Okay smith's got this one in the bag' because there was no way in hell that Groves was going to keep that kind of movement up for 12 rounds. And he paid for it too.

Good job Callum Smith/Joe Gallagher. And it's not often that Groves gets criticism or Shane McGuigan for that matter, but they got it so badly wrong tonight. They obviously went for the KO and it cost them from round 5 onwards.
