I agree. I think if they make weight fine. What do not like is catchweights. That is different. That is trying to get an advantage, but not have to make a weight for a title. Legalized cheating.

Oscar's entire LW career seemed to be weight bullying

Not in the same sense as today's day-before weigh-ins and rehydrating to an absurd size (so a super middleweight is a cruiserweight when he steps in the ring), but Jake LaMotta was a guy who often fought smaller men -- he would come in over the middleweight limit and many were welters who were coming up and weighing 150 or so. Ray Robinson wasn't the only one.

Let me clarify my statement...I respect the skills of these fighters . Im just saying they were huge once they stepped in the ring

Do you think that`s the main reason he was able to beat Ray that one time? He didn`t have a hard punch but maybe being heavier was a reason for his ability to take the smaller men`s shots, Ray destroyed him with body shots before battering him into defeat.

I have some sympathy for this argument.

The rules are the same for everybody, and everybody is free to choose their own strategy.

Valuev was more a size or height bully rather than a weight bully because if he was able to punch his weight or use his strength to overpower his opponent he would have crushed everyone he fought but he couldn’t.

If not for size he'd be Julius Long.
