I think Yohnny Perez is Colombian, and I'm also sure that Rafa Marquez would not win the featherweight division. But other than that and some other corrections other posters have made, great idea and good effort.

That would be an amazing tournament. How would they determine which countries qualify though?

name recognition.it would take forever to get the fights going if you put fights together for qualifications first.

As someone suggested though...doing this with amateurs would probably be a better way to do it but that would suggest a global body and regional tournaments and all that.

if wlad fights haye then it wouldn't last 6 rounds, wheras vitali would give him a better fight.

it could definatly work in the amateurs and would be better than the world championships.

it can only happen in the pros if there is a revolution or if boxing 'dies' and the promoters leave the sport, therefore leaving a space for a world govering body of boxing like football(soccer) has with FIFA. if all that happened then this could be reality.

promoters give the sport a really bad name and are killing the sport through greed and lies.

biggest culprits are don king, bob arum and frank warren. boxing needs an independant governing body like this guy suggested.
