Melian's "win" over Robeisy was a complete robbery. He got dropped twice in the first round. Conwell's division was poor at qualifiers and neither of the guys he fought in WSB were good, the Moroccan he fought weighed in 5lbs under

I never doubted Stevenson looks very good but he's in a division with Conlan and Ramirez!

Balderas beat some bums.. then got beat comfortably and very easily by Selimov as soon as he stepped up

    Conwell is certainly not 'excellent'

Russell is never gonna get near medals if he qualifies.

My point is to the deluded person or troll who said they have a 'very good team' if they had a 'very good team' They would have qualified at least 7 or 8 boxers in the American Qualifiers ( which is quite weak). Russia and Cuba have 'very good teams', Uzbekistan, Ireland, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan,Great Britain have 'good teams'. USA are not up there with the top nations.

USA will probably get 0 Medals, 1 maybe , (2 if they are very very lucky).

Some people on here need to realise there's a HUGE difference between looking good at the USA Nationals and medalling at the World Championships or Olympics.

I'm trying to square "poor" with winning olympic qualifier at age 18. Can you point to any other international amateurs (this year) who won any version of a qualifier at age 18?

The Moroccan he beat was a 2012 Olympian.

Conwell is not poor, demonstrably not. Of course he's a longshot to win a medal, but he's clearly a talented fighter.

Yes, Wilfried Ntsengue from Cameroon is 18 and won the same weight class as Conwell in the African qualifier which is also poor. I haven't said Conwell is poor, just that his level of international competition hasn't been great.

Selimov, meet chicken dance. Chicken dance, meet Selimov. see 08:22 in link below. The problem with you, Vyaschlev, is that you're not particularly honest.

Balderas -- Selimov. Close fight, ends with head-butt.

Europe is much much harder correct. The Pan American games is pretty poor its mostly just a showcase for the Cubans to look good in. Even Cam F Awful managed to get a medal there :rofl

On closer inspection, where do you wonder the African qualifier was held?

You don't suppose it was in ... Cameroon, do you?

If the whole tournament was rigged for him then surely Cameroon would've qualified more than just 3 boxers at the tournament. As such, the only footage is a few highlight videos of the semis and finals, whereas I watched the entire Americas qualifier from start to finish day in, day out. Ntsengue won bronze at the World Military Games and gold at the All Africa Games last year so he's clearly not a bum
