It's on since ten-Irish time. Vargas won well. Looked impressive. O'Reilly at one I'd say.

O'Reilly should win his next one too, Waheed from Iraq. He has lost to Lewis of Australia who Michael beat 3-0 in the Worlds, also lost in the Asian championships to Vikas Krisnan of India who will probably make the final here. In an earlier round at the Asian C'ships Waheed won against Narmandakh Shinebayar (MGL) 2:1 that MOR beat in an earlier round here.

Yep plus the loser today to the eventual winner! Daft because winning here means nothing in itself, also withdrawals and injuries. But what the Hell!!!
Standard poor enough, Dean Walsh was so unlucky with the draw, lots of good lads in his quarter. O'Reilly and Vikas-who beat him underage some years ago-are the only decent middles. And Dean has as good a chance as any at Superheavy, depending on Moore.

Would winning the tournament perhaps help rankings and therefore seedings in Rio?

Don't think so, I think they just use World, Olympic and Continental games. Daft as usual, if you move up in weight you retain your points as well.

Well Robeisy lost but is qualified with the whole cuban squad.
Vargas won by knockout and becomes the sixth man and eight boxer from usa to qualify.
Cuba and Great Britain have qualified all of his boxers.
    Gary Russell qualifies.
Just one event left, the wsb and pro qualifier which qualifies 26 boxers.
And the aiba is going to invite 8 boxers, 5 men in 8 weight classes.

Asenov has just beaten Vargas in a high quality fight-good learning curve for the American.
