Yeah..that's sad, in london they send Byron Molina at 49 with invitation, even when David Jimenez beat him 4 times, Molina lost by first round ko in his first fight.

    Lets update this a bit:

Stevenson: looks to be the class of the field with Robeisy Ramirez. Already assured a medal. Is going school Nikitin in all likelihood. Crushed the Mongolian guy who dominated Asenau.

Balderas: made it to quarters and looked good doing it. Held his own against Lazaro Alvarez and should have been awarded the first round.

Hernandez: Medaled. Beat the #2 seed along the way. Evidently not "poor".

Russell, should have medaled. Shamefully robbed today against 26-year old Gaibnazarov who by the third round was falling all over the place, gasping for air, while getting manhandled by a 20-year old with virtually no international experience. The Uzbek fighter was incidentally the runner-up at the 2015 world championships.

In the end, 2 medals and 1 medal robbed. Not bad for a bunch of teenagers with little experience.

Russell could end up being a great pro, he's got great hand speed and some pop!

They robbed Russell. That's why I don't care about Olympic boxing anymore. I've seen Levit and Russell get jobbed. I'll catch Stevenson in the pros.

Eh, Russell got a gift vs the Thai, so really he shouldn't of been there in the first place

that was not a gift in any way. It was a close call but Russell was way busier.

The Thai deserved the decision over Russell.

In any case, Gaibnazarov in the first two rounds was hitting, moving and clinching. It was all effective. Russell was shoe shining more in the first two rounds. Floyd Mayweather fans should be aware of this. By the third round, Gaibnazarov couldn't care less about the round, he was all about running and holding, he was willing to win 2-1.

I thought Russell pipped it but have no big problems with the decision.
