World series of Fighting WSOF kicks off Saturday Nov 3rd

Some decent names in the fighter roster. Anthony Johnson, Tyrone Spong, Arlovski, Rolles Gracie, Miguel Torres, Thales Leitas. Should be some more additions soon. Looks interesting. A few other Gracies are there too. Has a kind of old school feel to it and it certainly has potential. Here's the curve ball though, they will fight in a cage which is a decagon, rather than the UFC format of the Octagon.

Will need some serious backing to take on the juggermaut that is the UFC, but if they bring good names in and put on some entertaining fights it could do well. Ray Sefo seems deadly serious as president. They have got NBC Sports as the broadcaster so thats a good start.

It's their first show FFS. Give them a chance! Credit for starting something up and giving MMA fans an alternative to the UFC. If it's run well, then they may well attract some big names. But for now as long as we get good fights, then it's all good.

Worth keeping an eye on. This first card looks pretty decent, with some good fights, Rumble Johnson, Arlovski, Spong, Torres and a Gracie all on the card.

 

Yeah there are but how many of them are on a big network?? Yes we die hards know them, not the casual fight fan. Many can't see past the UFC, so yes it is something that can accompany the UFC as far as getting out to larger scale audience goes.

It's a win win for fight fans, in having variety. Still, got some good all action fighters in, Spong brings world class striking, Miguel Torres was a stud in the WEC, throw in Arlovski, ok terrible chin, but comes to fight. Got a few Gracies in, so be interesting to see what dimension they can bring along with the class BJJ skills. They got this kid, Tyson Nam, who is a hot prospect at Bantamweight.

Will be interesting to see how this 10 sded cage will work with fight dynamics. May encourage more action in the centre perhaps?

Got tournament format coming too, that was always great in Pride and old UFC. It's a good chance for up and coming fighters to get some exposure, since it's not always easy breaking in to the UFC. So fighters need somewhere they can showcase their talents. They know a good showing will boost their stock. So as fans, we may see the fighters really bring it.
