    Tom 'The Bomb' Bethea

Challenged Nino Benvenuti for the Middleweight Championship in May 1970.

Tom 'The Bomb' had posted a 'shoddy record' of 10-5-1 (5 KO's).

From May 1969 thru January 1970, Tom had lost '4' straight.

Then, in a 'non-title' safety bout, in March 1970, Nino Benvenuti gets banged in the ribs,
and gets stopped {TKO 8} by Tom 'The Bomb'.

Next stop, Tom Bethea goes from Out-of-the-Top 30 Middleweights, to
the #6-Ranked Challenger, and a World Title shot.

In May 1970, Tom 'The Bomb' hangs with the Champion for '7-Rounds',
    before getting 'one-punched knocked-out' in the 8th-Round.

Michael Bentt vs Tommy Morrison for the WBO strap, Bentt had a stellar amature career, he holds the distinction of being the most distinguished amature to never fight in the Olympics, but his 10-1 record 6 KO was shoddy to say the least, He knocked morrison down 3 times in the first for a TKO1 and won the title, 5 months later he got knocked out in the 7th by Herbie Hide, (who was supposed to fight morrison in the High-noon in hong kong card)
