I'd say Pacquiao - a loss to Morales and two razor thin fights *cough* losses *cough* is more than offset by the rest of his slate.

 

Manner of victory should be taken into account too. Jones' and Mayweather's low risk pot shotting was hardly enthralling. Pac comes in, trying to break your jaw, and still wins. Much more entertaining.

 

Calzaghe's achievments put him in with a good shout. How many boxers can go 46 fights unbeaten, no matter who they fight. He was 10 years as a world champion. He beat some of the biggest names of this generation.

You're trying to tell me wins over old Eubank, Lacy, Kessler and a scraped victory over Bernard trumps Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Hatton, De La Hoya, Cotto? If you want to go into detail on opponents you could also pick Pacquiao's apart. Cotto wasn't allowed to fight him at 147. DeLa Hoya was drained. Hatton was finished about 5 years ago.

Joe ruled a **** division but unlike a lot on the panel when he had a bad night HE STILL won. Eubank fight was timed well, Lacy and Kessler wins were great the last 2 nights were paydays but not Floyd paydays. Joe's hand issues and over-protection means there'l always be question marks, Floyd only has 1- Manny.

Hopkins is the only guy that can save your point re: Floyd and Manny for me. Clever that you didnt go as far as actually commiting to a name coz whatever anyone says now you can say -"Yea I meant him!" Floyd's 2 Castillo wins, not mentioned enough win over Corrales which is amongst his best, a very good Judah, Oscar at 154lb, huge fight with Hatton and any form of Mosely beats that of the others and only Manny can argue for me. Note I am not being totally bias as Gatti and JMM are both great name fighters but Gatti was a shell of the fighter and JMM doesnt belong at that weight. I also admit that both Floyd and Manny can beat whatever hand-wrap cheat or whoever they like but to be the genuine lb 4 lb best, undisputed they gotta get in the ****ing ring!!!!!

According to some, particularly dan-b, belts count for ****. I dont completely agree but yes they've lost the credibility they had in history an so I havent even included them in my argument.

In summary Floyd ticks all the boxes for the WHOLE time period we are looking at and he and Manny are the best fighters, the biggest draws with the best wins in the time
