You can only truly gauge that ability if it's been employed against fellow elite opponents.

Was a special specimen. But Floyd is the most naturally gifted fighter...

    **** NO :-(

Did you not see some of the stuff Prime Roy could pull of in a ring ?

Floyd has never shown no-where near as much flair and dynamic.

Floyd might be better schooled than Roy in the fundamentals.

But in terms of flash and flair and showmanship and KO power - Roy is clearly more naturally gifted athlete.

I agree, being able to "take the ****" against lesser fighters doesn't count for much when judging fighters at this level IMHO.

Glad to see others have seen sense since I last came into this thread.

B-Hop beat better opposition in that decade than Floyd did :deal

I disagree. Roy Jones in his prime was mental. Yeah, his CV isn't brilliant, but there isn't a SMW in history who would beat him, and very few LHWs, but you can make a pretty good case for Roy against anyone.

That was what Enzo Maccs career got found out on.

He looked devesating destroying Bobby Gunn.

But his flaws got quickly exposed against Haye.

However in the case of Roy Jones Jnr.

His legacy in the 1990's suggested his ability - he was a 3 weight world champ for ****s sake - beat Hopkins, Toney, Mike McCallum, Lou De Valle, Destroyed Montell Griffin, and the dangerous Reggie Johnson.

He carried that on into the early 2000's.

And his win over Ruiz was a masterclass of boxing.

:rofl Arguably the worst post I have seen today.

Dan-B/Gaz: I agree wholeheartedly that skills cannot e deemed truly formidable unless employed against truly formidable opposition. A lot of people think Floyd invented 'flawless displays of technique', when we have seencoubtless fighters look AS GOOD against SUPERIOR OPPOSITION :deal

AaGGH! This forum makes me want to go on a ****in mad one sometimes, WTF is wrong with some people?!? It's not even differing opinions, and some people, for whatever reason, refusing to listen to cold hard facts.

Oh, well, just finished skinning up, happy days....

**** you and you other dumbasses that didnt get the obvious line- RJ not natural he's a drugs cheat, Floyd natural ie not tested positive for roids. Thats why RJ's dq'd from my list. Sure Roy pissed on mediocre level fighters but Pac and Floyd have pissed n much better level.

Actually flea i've provided you with facts and the others dont match up. I noticed you added the Hopkins comment AFTER I posted that you would. Lazy comments

You did bring the Clinton Woods fight in as evidence...:deal

Either way, for me, Jones doesn't get it on quality of oppostion generally and certainly not in this millennium.

Calzaghe clowned Jones - done a wiggle with his hips in the 3rd round.

And he pretended to **** Hopkins in the jail shower when Hopkins was on the floor.

Calzaghe goaded and disrespected both ATG fighters !!!!!

It cannot be Floyd for the reasons already stated by Flea, dan and Gaz. Mayweather simply hasn't faced the same level of difficulty as Pac or Hopkins. He may be better, but he hasn't proved it.

    I went with Pacquiao
