Pavlik wasn't champion at lightheavyweight

 

It's a bad one, no doubt. To me, it looked as if Pavlik didn't even study Hopkins or had a strategy, but thought he could win by just showing up and fighting the same way he fought his last opponent, the pint sized british opponent. Also, I think Pavlik was already looking ahead for Calzaghe! Can you believe that. Looking past Hopkins? Unbelievable. Pavlik did not get knocked out or even knocked down, when Pavlik has a questionable chin, so it wasn't the worst embarrassment, but it was close.

Pavlik should drop his trainer and then go and get Emanual Steward. That will help him regroup for his fans.

I thought age would catch up with Hopkins, but I guess it hasn't so far. You know, I didn't like the way Hopkins tried to keep fighting after the final bell. What was that all about? If you are that tough, then go beat Taylor or Calzaghe!!! That is all I can say to Hopkins, and try not to fake a low blow so you don't get knocked out this time. But, if anyone is gonna pump up Hopkins for this win, they better remember the Taylor and Calzaghe fights, and then pump up Taylor and Calzaghe as well for beating Hopkins.

I think that most posters on this forum are too critical of poor Kelly. I don't think the criticism is merited in this case. If anyone deserves criticism, it's Jack Loew. He didn't prepare Kelly properly for a future hall of famer and possible all time great...that's ridiculous!!
