Harold Foster for stopping Froch-Groves early or Steve Smoger for allowing GlenTapia to take sustained beating in Kirkland-Tapia? :think
Smoger was worse. One punch too many always worse than one punch too few. I also believed that Froch was well on his way to a stoppage anyway. Groves was fading and Froch seemed to be getting stronger, although Groves should've been granted to chance to show he could still carry on.
Joe Cortez , Marlon B Wright, Richard Steele & Johnny Lo Bianco get my votes some of their performances were despicable
Harold Foster. Smoger's performance with Tapia is pretty consistent with his usual work. He always gives the fighters every benefit of the doubt, and though he was clearly losing, Tapia was never completely out of the fight with Kirkland until it was stopped. That one is on Tapia's corner more than anything else to make the call to stop it imo, which they should have done at the end of the 5th. Whereas Foster stopped the Froch vs Groves fight giving Groves very minimal time to prove he could continue, while giving Froch the benefit of the doubt several times earlier in the fight on the same score. So the stoppage was not only poor, but also inconsistent in the favor of Froch.
The Foster stoppage was more infuriating in the moment, but the Smoger decision was worse for precisely your reasons. It doesn't matter if Smoger usually lets fights go on, that doesn't somehow justify his failure to act now just as it didn't in Lebedev-Roy for instance.
That lousy Froch Ref ought never be allowed to put on a bowtie again and be banned outright from even watching fights
wow...and at the end in interview this **** had the nerve to argue those punches were on the belt.. how is possible, this guy is allowed to be in the ring after this.hes danger for fighters, who he has duty to protect their health i bet its sum corruption **** and he he got paid some money
