Worse robbery, Kovalev vs Ward 1 or Lomachenko vs Haney

neither one was a close fight. bOth the Eastern European white dudes beat that ass.

 

ward switched to wrestling because he was about to get ko'd using skill. boxing will never be on the up and up.

I will say there is no metric by which Ward won. He was outlanded and knocked down. What are you going to give him? Effective aggression? Defense?

But both awful robberies.

 

Duva doesn't get enough hate for putting Kovalev in a terrible situation in both Ward fights (Ward hometown, judges, ref, purses, Snake Jackson etc.) despite Kov coming in as the champion. She absolutely screwed him over and ultimately helped ruin his legacy. It's hard to find a situation where a promoter undermined their fighter so much, especially since Ward was no Canelo in terms of 'star power' etc. and they didn't really have to bend to anything he wanted as they had the belts and didn't need him.

I just think lots of you guys use the term “robbery” too loosely!

Lara vs PWill was a robbery! That judge that had Canelo drawing with Floyd was a robbery.

Of course unfortunately I can go on and on but I just think we should be more selective in our use of “The R word”

Overusing it causes it to lose its meaning!

 

Close fights cannot be “robberies” by definition!

 

Both were bad. Doesn't matter how much.. the wrong men won.

 

Kovalev / Ward the bigger steal imho. Yeah Ward hung tough and made a nice little comeback but he didn't win that fight especially not after the KD. The judges basically were looking for rounds to give him.

 

Kovalev v Ward I for me. I viewed it as a clear Kovalev win. Judges helped the undefeated American guy in the US there…As we’ve seen so many other times before.

 

Ward vs Kovalev because I don't see how it's possible that Ward could win with a knockdown against him. He would have to win 7-5 and that's just not possible IMO.

I had Lomachenko winning 7-5 vs Haney, I don't see how Haney could win 7 rounds either. But the knockdown in the Ward/Kovalev fight makes it worse for me.
