I'll get things started by posting 5 definite robberies IMHO. 1) Holmes-Spinx II (Holmes was robbed --had him winning by at least 3 rounds) 2) Hearns-Leonard II (Hearns CLEARLY won this one--knocked down SRL TWICE!!) 3) Hagler-Leonard (It wasn't one of Hagler's greatest efforts--but all Leonard did was run around and throw pitty-pat flurries that did NO damage. Hagler got screwed in this one.) 4) Hagler-Antuofermo I--Can't believe this was a split decision--can't believe it was even CLOSE. (Hagler EASILY won this one.) 5) Reggie Jones vs. Valeri Tregubov (1972 Olympics: light middleweight) Originally I had Louis-Walcott I but as rightfully pointed out I've never seen the fight in its entirety--so I'll substitute a fight I DID see in it's entirety and consider one of the worst decisions in Olympic boxing history! This was an absolute TRAVESTY!! PS--I'm sticking with my choice for Hagler-Leonard if for no other reason than that asinine 118-110 scorecard and that Hagler took so little punishment that he looked better after the fight than he did before LMAO!!
Roy Jones in the olympics Whitaker vs Chavez Pacquiao vs Bradley 1 Harada vs Famechon 1 Hagler vs Antuofermo 1
Jose Luis Ramirez-Sweat Pea 1 Hagler-Antofurmo was such a robbery. The judges rewarded Antofurmo for ineffective aggression. I had Antofurmo winning 5 rounds tops
In no universe could Leonard-Hagler possibly be considered one of the most egregious robberies of all-time. Hell, it wasn’t even a robbery at all, in my book. I had it even. Hagler **** the bed, simply, & should’ve done much better.
Hagler v Leonard was a very close fight, including it devalues your thread.Leonards win is debatable but is no where near one of the great robberys
Hagler-Leonard shouldn't be anywhere within miles from a list like this. Close, yes, a but absolutely not a robbery. The 118-110 card for Leonard is one of the all time bad cards, though. I also wouldn't list a fight I've never seen a complete version of. The rest are decisions I don't agree with, but not historic robberies imo. Whitaker-Ramirez 1 and Whitaker-Chavez are decisions I don't understand. Tito-DLH and DLH-Sturm are also really, really bad, as is Lewis-Holy 1. Douglas-Tyson never went to a decision, but it is quite unbelievable that it was a draw on the cards when Tyson was knocked out. Fury-Wilder 1, I thought was terrible as well. Only watched Toney-Tiberi once, but remember it as a highway robbery.
Alfredo Escalera v Tyrone Everett Rocky Lockridge v Wilfredo Gomez Emile Griffith v Luis Rodriguez IV
Fury Vs. Wilder 1 Alejandro Rochin 111-115 This means that Wilder won in 7 rounds and Fury won in 5 rounds; counting knockdowns. It's one of the worst decisions of all time. I would be a better judge, I have no doubt about that.
The most outrageous robbery is Coggi-Gonzalez 1, but that was the ref, not the judges Some outrageous decisions: Kim-RJJ in Seoul Escalera-Everett Holyfield-Lewis 1 Chavez-Whitaker Ramirez-Whitaker 1 Leonard-Hagler isn’t a robbery. It was a very close fight. 118-110 is ridiculous though. I think of that similar to Martinez-Williams 1. I had Leonard-Hagler and Martinez-Williams both 114-114. But one judge had it 119-110 for Paul, which is insane.
Escalera-Everett was the worst I ever saw. Blatant. I had it 12-3 for Everett. Don't agree with the Hagler-Leonard or Vito-Hagler 1. I had Hagler winning by two points, but that's a close fight over 15 rounds. Even if you thought Hagler won (big Hagler fan boy here, and even I had him losing), we all know how a fighter looks after the fight has no bearing at all on scoring. For what it's worth (and it ain't much) Leonard was unmarked too. Zarate-Pintor was also no robbery, though no one has mentioned it yet. I had Zarate winning, but by only two, that was close. Close fights are not robberies. Pretty much by definition.
