The referee was a complete joke, but Cardenas' corner and the ringside doctor have to take their share of the blame; they had that break before the final round to look him over, and then they still let the guy go back out there. When you see a fighter's body lurch and his eyes roll back in his head, after gettin hit with a jab, then you know its time to get him outta there. All involved were a disgrace. I still wonder what happened to Cardenas afterwards. I remember looking up websites after the fight, expecting to hear about him in a coma, or already dead. He was such a brave wee battler.
Thats my pick, brutally one sided. Larry was about ten classes above Cobb, but Tex had too good a chin.
Vargas took a serious beating from Tito. Chris Byrd from Wlad was kinda bad as well. Floyd owning Gatti, remember Gatti screaming in the corner? Cotto on Malignaggi comes to mind
That was sickening, the difference in size in the ring was huge, and Harrison just battered him for 12 rounds. Massive respect for Wayne for his heart but his corner should have pulled him out after 5/6 rounds. I seem to remember the Sky Pundit sounding as if he wanted to attack the ref and the corner for not stopping it, must have been Watt. The type of beating that lowers life expectancy.
