He is absolutely the worst announcer I have ever seen. He has a very poor on-screen presence, high-pitched annoying voice and jittery speech pattern, and bug-eyed, deer in the headlights look about him. I don't think he has correctly predicted the outcome of a fight in his entire life and yet tries to come off as some boxing expert and historian. Look up the word nepotism in the dictionary and you will see the clueless, slack-jawed, froggy-eyed, stunned visage of Max Kellerman stupidly glaring back at you.
Kellerman gets my vote. I'm not saying he's horrible....but I just can't stand the guy. He strikes me as someone you can't trust :rofl
In my book Sheridan wins/loses based on the fact he's been around so long and should be damned well better than he is. People call this guy a legend in the game!?! He's terrible and has a job any number of us would kill for.
Sheridan glosses every fight as if you were seeing Ali-Frazier or something, even if the fight is stinking up the place. Recently, he must have been calling the international feed or something, because you could actually hear him yelling over the actual announcers. I think it was an HBO fight.....
Lampley seems to make up punches that do not exist. Max is so damned biased. Al Bernstein extremely biased. Gil Clancey used to be a good commentator-George Foreman-Rubin Castillo, Sean O'Grady was good, Kevin Kelly a good one, but the bias of some commentators makes me want to puke.
Bingo. The absolute worst that I've heard as a commentator on a major network. How the hell are Merchant and Kellerman even in the running for worst ever? I'm convinced that a lot of you guys would complain, no matter who was calling the fights.
