    Hands down the refs from the Rocky movies!

    Watched Rocky III last night and I wondered how many uncontested haymakers does a boxer need to land on a defenseless opponent before the Ref will jump in?

    Oh and the best sequence in the movie was Clubber Lang to Apollo Creed: "hey boy, hey boy, after I crucify him you're next!

    It will always be the ref for sven ottke vs reid but im going the add the guy that let Mercer land like 8 bombs on tommy morrison while he was out cold.

    I dunno about worst but I did find myself saying out loud to myself years ago watching some fight on YouTube... "Man, Joe Cortez fights are always such a mess..."

    To be fair, he did a lot of fights. It must be a hard job if the guys are the top of of the profession can still so regularly struggle to do the job.

    That fight against Drago should have been stopped in the second round!

    Real worst refs

    Kenny Bayless: Not a bad referee per se, but he's clearly corrupt and changes his referee style from fight to fight to suit whoever is bribing him.
    Jay Nady: He got to involved in fights for my taste. I'm all for breaking up clinches, but this guy just didn't allow inside fighting
    Eddie Cotton: Gets too involved, and seemed to be clueless about why he was getting involved
    Joe Cortez: Once a very good ref, but got worse (maybe a bit of Bayless in him?)

    There are probably worse referees. Those are just some ones in high profile fights that did poor jobs.

    ...and the GOAT referee is Steve Smoger we need more refs like Smoger that let the fighters actually fight
