Sven Ottke - only fighter who wasn't allowed to be hit Jeff Lacy - think enough has been said already Carlos Maussa - KO'd a shot Harris, before getting outclassed by Hatton Gavin Rees - he is ****, believe me. A blown up super feather Lovemore N'Dou - how this guy stays near top is beyond me!
how can he be one of the worst? some of the names mentioned were stupid. gavin rees for example? hes not the best ever but hes far from the worse
We will see how good Kelly Pavlik is pretty quick. Not many expected him to beat Taylor, he was taking a beating but came back brilliantly to win - and all of the sudden, is the best 160lb'er ever according to some! I think he has a lot of good attributes, and is capable of dominating at 168 - I would like to see him against Kessler next, after he knocks out Taylor a second time. That will prove whether he is the real deal or not.
Carlos Maussa isnt a bad champion imho. I was extremely happy when he ktfo the Arrogant Vivian Harris whose mouth is running wild at that time claiming he can defeat PBF. My vote goes to: 1. Mzonke Fana 2. Brian Villoria
Vivian Harris is shite, like you say. Had his arse handed to him by Maussa, and not sure what I can call the beating from Witter. Outclassed, schooled, or just plain TKFO! The only thing 'vicious' about him, was his claim that his opponent had badly wrapped hands, and was on performance enhancing drugs. What bollocks. He should take one look in the mirror, and realise he is shot. Judging by his performance, he is the only one on drugs............tranquilizers.
Mark Breland. I'll never forget how they matched him up against Jakes like Harold Volbrecht and Sueng Soon Lee for vacant "chamionships", how Starling punked him, and how they tried to find credilble sounding but garbage opponents like Pineda, who was a ranked LIGHTWEIGHT at the time, and still would have won has he not quit. They wanted Breland to succeed because of his amatuer credentials, but they knew that he had potentially the worst chin of any world title condtender ever- so they handed him two phoney cahmionships.
I'd fight him with one hand tied behind me back! I can't believe he thinks he is a boxing legend! Why is there all the controversy about judging in Germany - the ref and judges aren't always German, yet we see so many hometowners?
Gavin Rees is getting some stick, some saying he is a fraud for being a blown up super feather, but surely that makes the achievment of winnning a WBA world title at light welter much more impressive? He may have over achieved but nobody really knows how good Rees is YET. Surely Mbaye would be a better candidate considering... There have been some terrible champions, I hate Mayorga but he was linear champ and has beaten some top fighters in Forrest, Lewis etc, he is nowhere near the worst. Ottke was bad for different reasons, the overall out look on the record is good at a glance, its just when you see how he fought and how he won, THATS whe nhe becomes a joke! William Joppy also got a mention, he is a very underrated talent, World class ability for sure, just was in a division where great fighters like Hopkins and Tito were...he did win the WBA THREE times! He should not be on the list. Kelly Pavlik knocked out the undisputed middleweight champ, he shouldnt be on this list. In fact i cant even think of anyone bad champ to stick here, i can only defend the ludicrouse choices other posters have made.
Eric Aiken is probably the worst of the recent ones. Won his title from a vacancy by DQ in a fight he was losing in at the time of the DQ (discounting deductions), and has some losses to some pretty horrible fighters on his record. Cruz Carbajal is another one who is pretty raunchy (who drew vs Aiken as well). Both of them are way worse than Maussa. Manny Melchor probably takes the cake though. Lost to every credible fighter he ever faced, except the one fight where he won the belt, in a title shot he in no way deserved. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=001699&cat=boxer I'm no boxing historian, but Lew Jenkins is another name I've seen thrown around.
